Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 18, 2026
SoberSphere Inc. (“SoberSphere,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates sobersphere.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.
We built SoberSphere for people exploring recovery and sobriety. We take your privacy seriously because we know the topics you explore here are personal.
What We Collect
Information you give us
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and username. If you upgrade to a premium membership, we collect payment information through Stripe (we never see or store your full card number).
If you use Harper, our AI companion, we store your conversation history to improve your experience. For premium members, this history persists across sessions. For free members, each session starts fresh.
If you post in the community, we store your posts and comments.
Information we collect automatically
When you use SoberSphere, we automatically collect:
- Device and browser information such as your browser type, operating system, and screen size
- Usage data such as pages you visit, guides you read, buttons you click, and how long you spend on different parts of the site
- Session recordings that capture how you interact with pages (mouse movement, clicks, scrolling) to help us improve the experience
- Location data — if you use the treatment center search, we use your general location to show nearby results
- Log data such as your IP address, access times, and referring pages
Information from third parties
If you sign up using Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from those services. We don’t receive your password.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Run your account and provide the platform
- Power Harper conversations and personalize your experience
- Show relevant treatment center search results
- Send you account-related emails (confirmations, password resets, membership changes)
- Understand how people use the platform so we can make it better
- Detect and prevent abuse, spam, and security threats
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your information to:
- Sell your personal data to third parties
- Target you with ads
- Share your identity with treatment centers unless you choose to contact them directly
- Make clinical diagnoses or treatment recommendations
Harper and Your Conversations
Harper is an educational AI companion, not a therapist or medical provider. Here’s how we handle Harper conversations:
What we store: We save a processed version of your messages with personally identifying information removed (names, phone numbers, emails, addresses). This helps us improve Harper’s responses and, for premium members, maintain conversation context.
What we don’t store: We don’t store the raw version of your messages in our database. The AI processes your original message to give you a good response, but what gets saved has personal details stripped out.
Crisis situations: If Harper detects language suggesting a crisis, it will surface crisis resources (like the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline). We log that a crisis event occurred for safety monitoring, but we don’t log the content of what you said.
Services That Receive Your Data
We use the following services to run SoberSphere. Each has access to some of your information:
| Service | Purpose | Data received |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database & authentication | Account info, usage data, Harper conversations (PII-stripped) |
| Vercel | Hosting & delivery | IP address, browser info, page requests |
| Anthropic (Claude) | Powers Harper | Messages (real-time, not stored per our agreement) |
| PostHog | Product analytics | Usage data, device info, anonymized interactions |
| Mapbox | Treatment center maps | General location when using treatment search |
| Stripe | Payment processing | Payment info, billing address (premium members) |
| Cloudflare | DNS & security | IP address, browser info |
| ElevenLabs | Voice features | Voice audio when using voice mode |
| Google / Apple | Social sign-in | Authentication tokens (if chosen) |
We may add additional analytics or service providers in the future. We will update this policy when we do.
Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Keep you signed in
- Remember your preferences
- Understand how you use the platform
- Prevent fraud and abuse
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking all cookies will prevent you from signing in.

Your Choices
Access your data: You can view your account information in Settings anytime.
Delete your account: You can request account deletion by emailing privacy@sobersphere.com. We will delete your account and associated data within 30 days. Some anonymized, aggregated data (like overall usage statistics) may remain because it can’t be tied back to you.
Delete Harper history: Premium members can clear their Harper conversation history in Settings.
Opt out of session recordings: Email privacy@sobersphere.com and we will exclude your account from session replay.
Email preferences: You can unsubscribe from non-essential emails using the link in any email we send. We will still send account-critical emails (password resets, membership changes).
Data Security
We protect your data using:
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
- Encryption at rest for our database
- Row-level security policies that prevent users from accessing each other’s data
- PII stripping on Harper conversations before storage
- API keys stored as environment variables, never in code
- Regular security reviews of our codebase
No system is perfectly secure. If we discover a breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.
Data Retention
- Account data is kept while your account is active and deleted within 30 days of account deletion request.
- Harper conversations (PII-stripped versions) are retained while your account is active and deleted with account deletion.
- Usage analytics are anonymized and aggregated and retained indefinitely because they cannot be tied to individuals.
- Payment records are retained as required by tax and financial regulations.
Children’s Privacy
SoberSphere is not designed for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us at privacy@sobersphere.com and we will delete it.
California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect and how we use it
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights
We do not sell personal information. To exercise these rights, email privacy@sobersphere.com.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the platform. Your continued use of SoberSphere after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
