Terms of Service
Last updated: February 18, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and SoberSphere Inc. (“SoberSphere,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using sobersphere.com, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the platform.
We’ve written these in plain language because legal documents shouldn’t require a law degree to understand. That said, these terms are legally binding.
What SoberSphere Is
SoberSphere is an educational platform for people exploring recovery, sobriety, and sober-curious living. We provide guides, an AI companion called Harper, treatment center search, community forums, and lifestyle resources.
What we are not:
- Not a medical provider. Nothing on SoberSphere is medical advice. We don’t diagnose, treat, or prescribe.
- Not a therapy service. Harper is an AI educational companion, not a therapist, counselor, or crisis hotline.
- Not a treatment center. We help you find treatment centers, but we don’t provide treatment.
- Not an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger, call 911. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, call or text 988.
Your Account
You need to be at least 18 years old to use SoberSphere. When you create an account, you agree to provide accurate information and keep it updated. You are responsible for keeping your password secure. If you think someone has accessed your account without permission, email legal@sobersphere.com immediately.
Free members get access to:
- All educational guides
- Treatment center search
- Harper (per-session, no persistent memory)
- Community posting
- Basic dashboard
Premium members get everything in free, plus:
- Harper with persistent memory across sessions
- Unlimited bookmarks
- Full dashboard personalization
- Progress tracking
You can request account deletion anytime by emailing privacy@sobersphere.com. We will process your request within 30 days. We may suspend or close your account if you violate these terms. We will tell you why unless doing so would compromise safety or a legal obligation.
Membership and Payment
Free membership is free. No credit card required. No trial period that auto-converts. Free means free.
Premium membership requires a paid subscription. Pricing is displayed on the membership page at the time of purchase. Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Stripe. You can cancel anytime. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We don’t offer refunds for partial billing periods, but if something goes wrong, email legal@sobersphere.com and we will work it out. We may change pricing for future billing periods with at least 30 days notice.
Using the Platform
What you can do:
- Read guides, use Harper, search treatment centers, and browse lifestyle content
- Post in the community under your username
- Bookmark content, track your progress, and personalize your dashboard
- Share links to public SoberSphere pages
What you can’t do:
- Use the platform if you’re under 18
- Create multiple accounts
- Impersonate another person
- Post content that is threatening, harassing, hateful, or illegal
- Share others’ personal information without their consent
- Use automated tools to scrape content or data
- Attempt to access other users’ accounts or data
- Use Harper to generate harmful content or attempt to bypass its safety measures
- Redistribute or republish our guide content without permission
- Use SoberSphere for commercial purposes without our written agreement
The community is a space for support, not judgment. We expect members to treat each other with respect. We will remove content and suspend accounts that violate these standards. Our moderation decisions are final.
Harper
Harper is an AI companion powered by language models. Harper provides educational information, conversation, and resource suggestions. Harper learns from your conversation within a session (and across sessions for premium members) to give more relevant responses.
Harper is not a licensed professional. Harper does not provide medical diagnoses, therapy, treatment plans, or crisis intervention. Harper’s responses are generated by AI and may sometimes be inaccurate or incomplete.
Harper is designed to detect language that may indicate a crisis and surface relevant resources (like the 988 Lifeline). This is a safety feature, not a substitute for professional crisis support. If you are in crisis, please contact a crisis service directly.
You are responsible for decisions you make based on information from Harper or any other part of SoberSphere. Always consult qualified professionals for medical, mental health, or legal decisions.
Treatment Center Search
We provide a directory of treatment centers to help you explore your options.
- We don’t endorse treatment centers. Appearing in our search results is not a recommendation.
- Information may be outdated. Treatment centers change their services, insurance acceptance, and availability. Always verify directly with the center.
- Verified badges mean the center has confirmed their information with us. It does not mean we have evaluated their quality of care.
- Contacting a center is your choice. When you call or visit a treatment center’s website from SoberSphere, you are interacting with that center directly, not with us.
Some treatment centers are partners who pay for enhanced visibility. Partner status does not affect how we present educational content about treatment options.
Content and Intellectual Property
All guides, educational content, Harper’s responses, design elements, and platform features are owned by SoberSphere Inc. or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission. You may share links to public pages. You may quote brief excerpts with attribution for non-commercial purposes.
When you post in the community, you keep ownership of what you wrote. By posting, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display, distribute, and store your content as part of the platform. This license ends when you delete your content or your account. You are responsible for what you post. Don’t post anything you don’t have the right to share.
Affiliate Links and Partner Content
Some guides contain links to products and services. When you purchase through these links, we may earn a commission. This does not affect the price you pay.
We only recommend products and services we believe are genuinely useful. Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial content. Guides in the “You’re Not Alone” section of the platform do not contain affiliate links.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using SoberSphere, you agree to our Privacy Policy.
Disclaimers
SoberSphere is provided “as is.” We do our best to keep everything accurate, working, and available, but we can’t guarantee uninterrupted service or error-free content.
We are not liable for:
- Decisions you make based on information from SoberSphere or Harper
- Actions or omissions of treatment centers listed in our directory
- Content posted by other community members
- Service interruptions or data loss
- Third-party products or services linked from our platform
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SoberSphere’s total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the platform is limited to the amount you’ve paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $100, whichever is greater.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold SoberSphere, its officers, employees, and partners harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the platform, your content, or your violation of these terms.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the platform at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continuing to use SoberSphere after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms. If you don’t agree with the changes, you should stop using the platform and request account deletion.
